California Lead Plumbing Law is now effective as of January 1st, 2010.
LEGEND VALVE has products that are compliant with this new law.

The new California Lead Plumbing Law was effective on January 1st, 2010. This legislation, California Assembly Bill 1953 (AB 1953), "prohibits the introduction into commerce of any pipe, pipe or plumbing fitting or fixture, solder, or flux that is not lead free, as defined, in the installation or repair of any public water system or any plumbing in a facility providing water for human consumption."

The new law defines "lead free" products as containing "not more than 0.25%" weighted average lead with respect to the wetted surfaces. This requirement is different from the current law and the NSF-61 drinking requirement in that it is a much lower lead content and is NOT based upon lead leaching tests. It is a direct material composition requirement and is independent of any coatings, washes, or any other treatments which affect the wetted surfaces only.

True to form, known for outstanding customer service, we at Legend Valve have been actively working to provide products that are compliant with this new law. We have been researching and testing various new metal alloys that can provide the same benefits of traditional leaded brass and bronze, but without the lead content. In some cases, where appropriate, we will make available equivalent products made of high strength polymers. In either case, rest assured that the "lead free" products from Legend Valve will be of the same high quality, already found in our existing products. They will be backed by the same "legendary" customer service and the best warranty in the industry.
